EMILY SANDERSON
Thank you so much for taking an interest in my work and in my passions.

It means the world to me that you are here having a nosey around my website and just in case you wanted to know, here is a little about me:
As you have probably guessed from my website, I'm a creative dabbler. I'm a writer, a reader, a bookstagrammer, a filmmaker, an artist and have been a UNESCO Nottingham City of Literature volunteer for over a year now.

I aspire to be a traditionally published fantasy author and join the likes of V.E. Schwab, Samantha Shannon and Laini Taylor. I would also love to adapt my work for film and TV and be heavily involved in the process. Blending a career in Film and TV with a literary career.

In the meantime, this is where I'm at:

Reading:
I have dyslexia and it has taken some time but now I've figured out a few tricks that has allowed me to become the book nerd I always wanted to be. I've always loved stories, I just struggled to digest them in certain formats. It's probably why I am such a creative dabbler, why I went into film and television and started writing my own stories. It was always there, buried beneath the surface. I now feel utterly blessed that I can experience hundreds of worlds and live hundreds of lives. I'm still not a fast reader, and probably never will be but I promise you this, I am a passionate one. It's still annoying, the dyslexia, but it's about finding small ways to help yourself. If you are like me, know, this didn't happen overnight. It's about setting small goals, building up your tolerance. It is still a fight everyday but you can get there, it just takes time and determination. You can always email me if you would like advice or have a look at my Goodreads and see the progression yourself.

Film/TV career thus far:
At the age of sixteen I was chosen along with thirteen other pupils residing within the county of Nottinghamshire, for their accolades in media, for an intensive five-day film production course run by Aim Higher and Broadway Cinema Nottingham. This spurred me on to obtain a diploma in Film and Television Production.
Since that start I worked on the short film The Final Blossom that went on to be nominated for a Royal Television Society Student Award (Yorkshire Centre).
As of November 2018, I was honoured to win Channel 4's Rising Star Award. Continuing on from that I was chosen from over one thousand five hundred applicants for a five-day work experience with the renowned Film4.
I have worked on short films, cinema adverts and music videos. Ranging from runner, costume designer, costume maker and production designer. I also have experience in writing scripts that have yet to be made.
A music video I worked on, that premiered last year, has gained over thirty-nine thousand views since its release in September 2019.

Writing:
I've always had story concepts rattling around inside my head since childhood but it took screenwriting modules during my diploma for me to sit down and actually write them, realising my love for creative writing. I've written short scripts, short stories, poetry, a first draft of a novella and have been dipping into the many novel ideas I have over the last few years.
Drawing:
I am currently practicing and refining frequently, enjoying the craft. Portraiture is a favourite of mine and I am currently open to commissions.

That's it, you are free! I release you. Wow, that was a lot. The one downside with being in love with many things. I hope you have enjoyed hearing about me, my life and have gotten something out of my website. I love collaborating so if there is anything on here that has piqued your interest, send an enquiry and we can have a chat. All contact methods and details are on the next page.
