Happy Frankenstein Day! Mary Shelley was born on the 30th of August 1797. In honour of the maker of monsters herself I wanted to celebrate one of my favourite literary monsters.

One of my favourite monsters is by far Osaron by V.E. Schwab in A Conjuring of Light. I think the thing that sets this monster apart for me is the fact it’s fuelled by a humanised ego which I think we can all agree, can be the most terrifying thing. This mix of monster and man had me mentally running away from Arnes! Imagine giving a narcissistic man the power of a god. This monster haunted the pages and had me on edge. V.E. Schwab knows how to get under your skin. The fact this monster had the ability to take you, change you and use you as a tool. Horrifying and bloody brilliant. Thank you Victoria!
