Celebration - World Tea Day & UNESCO's World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

Today is both World Tea Day and UNESCO’s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

Now, I don’t drink tea but I know it keep a lot of writers from setting their WIPs on fire and fuels readers across the world so I have an appreciation for it. For this post today though I would like to focus on the latter of today’s celebrations. ‘World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebrates not only the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.’ - UNESCO.org

To celebrate here are two stunning books on my TBR that have been praised for their incredible world building.

I met Zen Cho a few years ago at my favourite literary convention, Edge Lit, and I’ve followed Hafsah Faizal on Twitter forever! I have heard so much about both books and I can’t wait to dig in! I mean look at them! They’re so shiny! Bonus that my copy of Sorcerer to the Crown is signed with a small drawing of a wizard in it for good measure.

Both authors champion diversity through their work and all I can say is a sincere thank you.

The importance of diversity and the power it has to improve all of our lives can not be understated. It allows young people to feel seen and breaks down walls in others. Books with beautifully diverse and wonderful characters bring so much more life to the literary world and brings us all closer together.

Thank you Zen and Hafsah!
