Circe Review

I am Circe Witch of Aiaia... I can hear the narrator even now. Her voice clear and echoing in my head. I never thought I would take to a mythology inspired book. I always thought the ancient ways of discussion would end up being stagnant and stale. Oh, how wrong I was! Circe by Madeline Miller was captivating. Although her words were precise and eloquent and held no form of colloquial language you felt everything being said, and everything that was being kept back. The character felt like a person. One that went on a journey from being Circe, daughter of Helios to her one damn woman! I’ll repeat. Circe Witch of Aiaia. This character is kick ass. She may have perfect posture of perfect diction but she knows have to make the best out of a bad situation and will fight tooth and nail to get there. The character has strength and depth and the world was so fascinating. Especially seeing how even Gods fear what they don’t know. Bridging the gap between gods and mortals. It felt like this good of happened, centuries ago.

This book is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It’s really opened up doors for me. Having had such a great experience with a mythology inspired book I’m certainly more inclined to pick one up in the future. So, if you were like me and are a bit blah towards this kind of thing I would get the audiobook of Circe and it may open doors up for you too.

If you’ve also ticked this off your TBR list, let me know what you think? It would be interesting to see the difference between those of us who read the physical book or listened to the audiobook because seriously her voice is still in my head.

P.S. And honestly, who doesn’t love witches! It was a great surprise.
