Discussion - Books outside of your usual genre that you loved

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today I want to talk about reading books outside of our ‘go to’ genre. For me, as you know, I am very much a fantasy girl but I came across One Of Us Is Lying and I loved it!

It is definitely not my usual ‘go to’ kind of book and I only ended up listening to it because it showed up as a ‘new audiobook’ on my library app. I thought, why not? I went for it and absolutely loved it. I was really surprised I could love anything but Fantasy. I’ve only read a handful of books outside of the genre and they tend to not float my boat. But this book totally did. Another book I loved is After the Eclipse by the wonderful @franwritesstuff . So, I think it’s well worth jumping out of our safety net genres every now and then to see what’s out there. That’s also what I love about library apps! They help you discover new things without the worry of paying out for something you’re not sure you’ll like. If you’re not a member of a library make sure you check out your local one! AND it’s Library Card Sign Up Month! So make sure you get one. 😉

I’d love to know if there are any books you enjoyed outside your usual genre?

Let me know in the comments!

PS. Nuggy decided that he must be photographed because ‘he is beautiful darling’ and hence why there is a bunny in the corner of my photo. For all of you who thought this was a dog or a cat, I promise you, you are not the first and won’t be the last! He likes to confuse people.
