Happy Thursday everyone!
I hope your week has gone well and that you have plenty of reading time planned over the weekend.
Today I present to you two book covers for the stunning book A Court of Mist and Fury. A book that is 100% in my top five.
And weirdly I wrote this post earlier today, not planned around the cover release of A Court of Silver Flames. And can I just quickly say, meh? Anyone else not particularly like the look of it? Anyway, let me get on with what I had planned to talk about.
Out of the two cover sets for the ACOTAR series, do you have a favourite? Me, I’m a sucker for the Illyrian tattoos that feature the first set of covers and I also love the depth they have. For the newer ones, I l find flatter designs rarely as appealing. I get why they wanted a rebrand after the books were marketed for YA for some reason. I mean did they read chapter 55! My library has it in the YA section but strangely has books like Caraval in the Adult Fantasy area. Crazy. I think I’m more keen on the first two of the newer cover sets out of that bunch as they feel ever so slightly related to the books but like I said, I am totally digging the Illyrian tattoos so I definitely have a favourite. If I ever do splurge and treat myself to my own copies you bet I’m going for the originals. They are so pretty and fierce and the digital artwork is amazing. Especially after seeing the cover for the latest book in the series. It makes me appreciate the originals even more. But at least the book will be with us in February am I right?
Do you have a favourite or can think of any other books who had a revamp that you weren’t overly keen ok? Would love to know what you think of them.
I mean they would objectively be nice if we didn’t already have something so stunning you know. They almost become identifiable and link to your memories of reading the books so for it to be changed, I think it’s always going to be tough pleasing people.
